Good to Know
This service requires enough capacity on your new SSD to host both operating systems comfortably. We recommend a minimum of 500GB — 250GB for your existing OS and at least 50GB for Linux, with room to spare for your data. A 1TB SSD gives you the most flexibility and is the option we recommend most for this service.
We strongly recommend backing up your data before we begin. While this is a safe and well-tested procedure, working on older hardware always carries some risk. We handle every device with the utmost care and professionalism throughout the entire process.
You have the option to keep your old hard drive in an external USB enclosure so you can access any remaining data after the migration — a great safety net we highly recommend.
